Two years ago – to the day – a not so little bundle of joy came bounding in to my life.

I’d been told that I couldn’t have a home birth. But I could. And I did!

After my first baby weighing 2lb 11oz, and 5 weeks in the neonatal unit, there were gremlins of self doubt for sure. I was lucky though. I knew how important my dream team was. I knew how to create a network of supportive people who would lift me up instead of put me down.

My dream team consisted of my wonderfully supportive husband, our Independent Midwives (Sharyn, Claire, Debs & Chris), my chiropractor (Cathy) and my friends who are too many to mention.

They had faith. They listened. They loved. They reminded me that my body is amazing!

One of the biggest and best things you can do for your pregnancy and birth is to create a dream team that give you the warm and fuzzy feelings. I still smile when I think back to how these wonderful women made me feel.

Who’s in your dream team? If you don’t know where to start, check this out.

Don’t settle – your pregnancy is special and your birth matters.
